A Rocky Mountain Wedding at Silverthorne Pavilion

Abigail & Tim | July 6th

From the bride: The whole wedding day was one big celebration. I had always dreamed of a mountain wedding growing up in beautiful Colorado.  I just wish the day could have lasted longer!

Our wedding was held at the beautiful Silverthorne Pavilion. We chose to have our ceremony on the north lawn because it was not only spacious and provided plenty of room, it was also set right in front of a beautiful mountain backdrop showing Buffalo Mountain and the Gore Range. I loved having a nice amount of room to set everything up and as I walked down the aisle, I was able to see the beautiful mountains waiting in front of me. Since the Silverthorne Pavilion sits right off of the Blue River, we didn’t have to work very hard to create a beautiful setting.

Tim made a beautiful aspen arbor to stand under during the ceremony, along with stumps to line the aisle.

My favorite moment was when I finally heard those words, “You may now kiss your bride!!” Such a feeling of joy and relief swept over me that we had finally made it to that point and it was now time to celebrate spending the rest of our lives together!!

Each of the guest tables had a wood slice in the center with a big jar of flowers. A flickering lantern also sat in the middle of each table. The wood slices were sprinkled with river rocks, which tied in the Blue River. Tim and I both worked on the centerpieces together so that made each piece a little more special.

My most memorable moment was our first dance. We danced to “The Love I Found In You” by Jim Brinkman. Just being close to each other, surrounded by all of our friends and family who love us most was as perfect as a moment could get. Everything else seemed to disappear for those few moments as if we were the only people in the room!!

Enjoy every moment!! Try not to get too wrapped up and stressed out by planning the wedding. The whole day should be a celebration of your commitment to one another and a great time with friends and family surrounding you!! When the wedding day finally comes, take time to take it all in… don’t be too hurried through everything. Don’t forget to enjoy all the little details and the food!! Just remember that even if you have glitches in your planning or at the wedding, you have still found that perfect person to spend the rest of your life with!! Remember the big picture and cherish your time together!!
