Danielle & Bryan | September 8th | Colorado Springs, Colorado
From the bride, Danielle:
My wedding band was very special because it belonged to my sister. She was killed in a plane crash and it was one of the only things that survived. Wearing the ring everyday reminds me that she will always be there for me.
I absolutely LOVED my bouquet, it was the most beautiful bouquet I had ever seen. It was a very romantic girly bouquet with antique buttons, broaches, pearls and feathers. I also had an “N” pinned in a place that only I could see it to remind me that my sister Nicole was with me in spirit.
My dress was a ballgown with a pure beaded sweetheart neck bodice and a large skirt with a train and flowers with Swarovski crystals and ostrich feathers. I had a blusher and a cathedral length veil. I had to have a huge dress since it’s a once in a lifetime event and the church was so big!
Our ceremony was on a beautiful, sunny day at the United States Air Force Academy Chapel. The chapel has a very long middle aisle, stained glass that peaks, and a giant organ.
I loved the drive with my husband in the Rolls Royce in between the ceremony and the reception. It was the ONE detail I didn’t plan and he surprised me with it. It was so beautiful. We were finally married and could just enjoy some quiet time together before going to the reception. It was so romantic.
Our reception was at the The Mining Exchange. It is a beautiful, restored, historical building. The ballroom has exposed brick, original honeycomb tile and an outdoor patio. They also have the original safes from when miner’s used to trade their gold for money.
The centerpieces were vases I filled with pink and white sea glass, curly willow and paper flowers.
My cake was Tiffany blue with ivory bows and diamond broaches.
My advice: Get the big stuff pinned down right away! Do what you want to do and don’t let anyone sway you!
