"I Do" in Colorado Springs

Danielle & Bryan |  September 8th  |  Colorado Springs, Colorado

From the bride, Danielle:
My wedding band was very special because it belonged to my sister. She was killed in a plane crash and it was one of the only things that survived.  Wearing the ring everyday reminds me that she will always be there for me.

I absolutely LOVED my bouquet, it was the most beautiful bouquet I had ever seen.  It was a very romantic girly bouquet with antique buttons, broaches, pearls and feathers. I also had an “N” pinned in a place that only I could see it to remind me that my sister Nicole was with me in spirit. StephanieBauer02StephanieBauer09

My dress was a ballgown with a pure beaded sweetheart neck bodice and a large skirt with a train and flowers with Swarovski crystals and ostrich feathers. I had a blusher and a cathedral length veil. I had to have a huge dress since it’s a once in a lifetime event and the church was so big! StephanieBauer05 StephanieBauer06 StephanieBauer07

Our ceremony was on a beautiful, sunny day at the United States Air Force Academy Chapel.  The chapel has a very long middle aisle, stained glass that peaks, and a giant organ. StephanieBauer10 StephanieBauer11

I loved the drive with my husband in the Rolls Royce in between the ceremony and the reception. It was the ONE detail I didn’t plan and he surprised me with it. It was so beautiful. We were finally married and could just enjoy some quiet time together before going to the reception. It was so romantic.  Our reception was at the The Mining Exchange. It is a beautiful, restored, historical building.  The ballroom has exposed brick, original honeycomb tile and an outdoor patio. They also have the original safes from when miner’s used to trade their gold for money. StephanieBauer18

The centerpieces were vases I filled with pink and white sea glass, curly willow and paper flowers. StephanieBauer19

My cake was Tiffany blue with ivory bows and diamond broaches. StephanieBauer20

My advice: Get the big stuff pinned down right away! Do what you want to do and don’t let anyone sway you!

Photographer: Stephanie Brauer Photography. She was very sweet and fun to work with. The pictures turned out great.
Ceremony Site: The USAFA Cadet Chapel
Reception Site: The Mining Exchange, Wyndham Grand Hotel. It was beautiful, historic, a great space to arrange however you wanted it. Shelby Pywell was a great help, very professional and friendly and catered to my every need.
Caterer: Springs Orleans. People still talk about our food. Everything was delicious!
Cake: Sweet Daphne Confections. Megan listened to what I wanted and made it happen, even getting the Tiffany blue to be the exact shade I wanted.  It was the best cake I’ve ever eaten!!
Wedding Gown: Allure from Something New Boutique. After trying on at least 30 dresses at other stores, they listened to what I wanted and the first dress I tried on there was the one!
Florist: Willow ‘n Weeds. Karol really helped me to pick things I liked since I was lost! She made the most beautiful bouquet I’ve ever seen and it didn’t wilt for days.
DJ: Complete Music. Our DJ (Justin) was great at catering the music to what I wanted and I was able to make a playlist and a DO NOT play list.
