Nadia & Erik | July 1st | Beaver Creek, Colorado
From the bride, Nadia:
We have made many memories skiing throughout the Rocky Mountains in Colorado so we loved the idea of sharing our love of ski towns with our wedding guests. We also wanted our guests to feel like they were going on a vacation and many did choose to stay a couple of extra days to enjoy all the summer activities Beaver Creek has to offer.

I’m originally from South Africa and Erik from the United States, and during our last year before marriage we were long distance and flew regularly to see each other, so we decided to have a travel-theme throughout our wedding.
Since I was born in a coastal town in South Africa and Erik was born in Santa Barbara, we gathered sand from the beach of each of these towns and poured our corresponding sand together during a sand ceremony to represent the union of our families.
The backdrop of the mountain views, the valley, the river and the aspen trees, what more could a bride and groom want!
Our place cards were vintage luggage tags and our favors were a key shaped bottle opener, wrapped and stamped like a postal package.
We framed large vintage maps of the US and Africa and used them to pin the escort cards to. We placed vintage suitcases around the reception and utilized real vintage Colorado postcards as a Postcard Guestbook.
Each table was named after a city that meant something to us and a short explanation on the back of the sign.
My advice: Enjoy every minute! Try to not get too weighed down with the details of wedding planning and take time out of planning to just be together and be excited for the big step you are taking.
