From the bride, Audrey:
I’ve always been obsessed with antique stores. What you can find in them comes with such incredible histories and stories around each piece. My whole family shares this passion. So when we started to plan the wedding, the theme of shabby chic really fit in with what I already had and loved. I wanted our day to be romantic and I had to have lace everywhere! Practically everything was handmade, we spent hours adding all the little touches.
I looked through tons of magazines to get ideas and build my own special day. I like magazines much better than Pinterest because I could write notes and cut out the pictures I wanted.
We had the vows under the gazebo. It was magical and surreal. When asked who gave me away, my whole family stood up and said “we do.” It was an incredible moment. My MOH and I did all of the chalkboard signs for the wedding. I really feel like they are that special touch because the details make all the difference in the word.
I love all the lace table clothes that my Mom and Grandma put together for me. After the wedding was over we gave each one away to a family and or friend that helped us to put everything together. I keep mine on our dinning room table. It’s a nice daily reminder of that day we shared with all our loved ones.
I really loved all the table centerpieces. My family all pitched in and gave me little pieces from their own homes and my Mom and I searched hundreds of antique stores for the pieces we wanted.
Advice: Set a budget and stick to it!
