Cortney & Mike | August 25th | Estes Park, Colorado
From the bride, Cortney:
We choose Estes Park because we wanted a mountain wedding. Green is my favorite color which inspired the color palette and since we were getting married in the mountains – classic mountain chic was the way to go (i..e cowboy boots with black dresses for girls, green mountain inspired floral arrangements, etc).
The weather was perfect (not too cold and not too hot) – literally the “perfect” day. The church was this cute little mountain church (exactly as you would imagine a mountain church) that had amazing stain glass windows. There were elk in the parking lot in the morning. The priest (Father Joe) was great and decided to ask for an impromptu speech from Mike’s brother (best man) and Cort’s sister (maid of honor), asking them why they thought we were best for each other and should get married.
We had personalized totes designed for us by Maptote. They had chocolate mountains from Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, popcorn from Too Haute Cowgirls – called “Have Bacon Will Travel” – it was delish!
My advice: Set up a separate e-mail account just for wedding planning. You get a LOT of emails. Secondly – take everything in strides. Things will be hectic up until the day of the wedding.
