Paula & Frankie | July 18th | Alamosa, Colorado
From the bride, Paula:
Our wedding day was beautiful!! We had a very intimate gathering with our relatives and very close friends. Since we got married in Colorado, we really utilized the beauty of nature and incorporated that into our wedding décor.
The day of the wedding we went traditional and did not see each other, we also agreed we would not talk. Not any text messages/phone calls, but one thing we did do is gave each other a love letter the night before. It was such a beautiful idea.
Prior to the wedding we both were a nervous wreck (not bad nerves, but excited) but once we laid eyes on each other, we both felt at such ease. We told each other the week leading up the to the wedding that it was just him and I, just us.
The reception was outside and we loved the feel of having a midsummer night theme. We danced the night away and enjoyed spending a great time with our loved ones.
My father passed away when I was four years old, and so when the time came for a father/daughter dance….there wasn’t anyone to dance with. Instead the DJ played my dads favorite song “I Love Rock’n’Roll” and everyone stood up to dance to it in remembrance of him, we then led into a mother/daughter dance to the song “Butterfly Fly Away” by Miley Cyrus. It was a very emotional moment for not only my mother and myself but for my whole family.
Frankie was a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy and we used his saber sword to cut our cake.
My advice: Remember that it is just the two of you on that special day, nothing else in the world matters but how you feel for each other right then, in that moment.
Photographer: GaleRisa Photography is amazing!! They do such a wonderful job and take such time and effort in making your special memories look just as beautiful as you remember them.
