From the bride, Teresa:
Family was our theme; he’s Scottish, I’m English, so we incorporated as much of each as we could. Our color palette was hunter, navy, gold and red – the colors of the family plaid and crest. We chose to marry at the historic mining lodge, the Eureka Lodge in Silverton, Colorado. It is such a gorgeous setting. The views are breathtaking. There were so many different backgrounds for our pictures: the bridge, the mountains, the lodge, the river. I can’t imagine a more perfect setting for our wedding By renting the lodge for the weekend, we got to see most everyone that attended the wedding. That was great! We didn’t have to run over here or buzz over there to see anyone. It gave us more time to visit.
The reception had a Scottish theme. We hired a celtic band to play during the ceremony and reception. One of the band members gave Scottish dance lessons to whoever wanted to learn. There were pieces of the plaid and both family crests on the cake, tables, and decorations. We had a Scottish food station with meat pies, whole salmon and Scottish eggs. We also had a whiskey tasting bar and of course, a tea station for the English side of the family.
