Brittany & Matthew  |  June 15th  |  Littleton, Colorado

From the bride, Brittany:
When I first started planning I was all over place! Our wedding colors went from green to pink and then to purple. I got really stressed about committing to a color and then having to incorporate it throughout all of the details. All of the Pinterest ideas I had flowing through my head were just making the decision making process harder. I then took a step back and focused on our venue and the reasons we chose it.  It was a stunning venue and we didn’t want to take away from the beauty of the setting.  We decided to go with a very simple style that was romantic, yet made for an elegant affair.

The floral arrangements and bouquets consisted of beautiful blooms of white peonies, hydrangea, ranunculus, lilac, and calla lilies. The flowers popped against the champagne dupioni bridesmaid dresses which were adorned with open backs and bow details on the back neckline.

In lieu of traditional wedding programs, we had a chalkboard that greeted guests as they found their way to their seats.

My favorite part was when my husband and I took a moment alone to step outside and be away from the party to fully take in the experience and the moment.  There are very few times in your life when you have all the people you love in one room. To know that they were all there to celebrate with us and our new lives together, well that is a pretty spectacular feeling.

When the night ended, there was a ‘Thank you’ chalkboard waiting for guests with their favors – homemade pepper jelly.  The chalkboard is now hanging in our house as décor.  It’s a great conversation piece and speaks to who we are as hosts. It’s a personalized keepsake!

Looking back, I would have hired a day-of wedding coordinator.  I think I would have been less stressed about everything knowing that I could trust them to help with all of the details. Not to mention, they have done this many times before and they are familiar with the venue and the staff.

My advice: Wedding planning is supposed to be enjoyable.  After all, you only do it once… enjoy it! Sometimes it can be difficult and stressful to make a decision on which vendor to go with. Anytime we made a big decision or choose a vendor, whether it was our venue, photographer, florist or DJ we made sure that we treated ourselves to a celebratory drink.  Celebrating the mini wins made our planning process fun and exciting.

Brittany’s RECOMMENDED VENDORS

Rockstar Photographer: DEVON K PHOTOGRAPHY  { more info | websiteEvery bride has that one thing that matters most to them, and to me, it was the photography.  I spent hours researching photographers and met with several, but as soon as we met with Devon we knew we had found the “one”. Words cannot describe how amazing Devon is! She is very easy-going, fun and relatable.  She is a true professional and can handle any situation thrown her way. Her work is incredible and she creates such breathtaking images! She captured our day and all of the little details perfectly. Our wedding went by so fast, but thanks to her, we are able to cherish all of the special moments time and time again.

Venue & Caterer: Arrowhead Golf Club.  When searching for a wedding venue, my husband and I knew that we wanted to exchange vows in a location that was unique, provided a beautiful Colorado backdrop and reflected who were are as a couple. We came across Arrowhead Gold Club located in Roxborough Park and immediately fell in love.  The dramatic views of the red rocks and lush greens took our breath away as soon as we entered the gates of the park.  It was truly magical.  The staff is great to work with and the food was excellent.  Whitney Cole and Kiersten Thoma were amazing. They are very responsive and ensured that our wedding went off without any problems.

Cake: Azucar Bakery. The customer service that we experienced at Azucar was extraordinary.  In fact, we loved them so much that we cancelled the rest of our planned tastings because we knew that they could provide what we wanted and within our budget. Azucar offers so many mouth-watering flavors it was hard to choose which ones we wanted! We ended up choosing four different flavors and all of them where delicious! Our favorite was the Yellow cake with Dulce de Leche filling.

Florist: Secret Window Floral Studio. When my husband and I first met with Rhoda, we arrived at the studio with a big binder in tow with a plethora of floral ideas. I was pretty overwhelmed with all the ideas and flowers I had seen (thank you, Pinterest), but Rhoda took her time with us and helped us to pick out the perfect palette. She is knowledgeable and had the flowers in stock so that we could see samples of how the bouquets, boutonnieres and centerpieces would look together. Being a very visual and detail-oriented bride, this made all the difference! We felt so comfortable with Rhoda that we let her do her thing when it came to our ceremony arrangements. We had a general idea of what we wanted, but decided to let the expert design the perfect arrangement for us based upon the other flowers we had already chosen…needless to say, they turned out amazing! They took my breath away as soon as I saw them. Every single bouquet and floral arrangement at our wedding was absolutely stunning. Rhoda puts so much time and effort into her flowers and it really shows. She is an absolute pleasure to work with!

Chalkboards: Chelsea’s Chalkboards. Chelsea is so talented! I sent her some pictures on what I was looking for and she nailed it! She is detail-oriented and it shows in her work. Our chalkboards turned out amazing and were a hit with all of our guests.  We loved the fact that we were able to add some additional creative personal touches with the chalkboards…and we can still use them as décor in our house!

Guest Lodging: Marriott South at Park MeadowsLindsey O’Dell and the entire staff at the Marriott made our stay delightful! They were easy to work with and very accommodating. The hotel was well kept and our suite was very spacious. After the wedding, we headed back to the hotel bar (Sonoma’z) for the after party.  They were very accommodating and stayed open for a few extra hours so that we could continue the celebrations.  They also coordinated our morning after brunch.  It was great to have the whole patio to ourselves and the food was great!

Hair & Makeup: Charmed BeautyRachael is absolutely amazing! I called her about 3 weeks before my wedding in an absolute panic after a not-so-pleasant hair and makeup trail with the hair dresser who was supposed to doll me up on my wedding day. I totally lucked out that she was able to fit me in! After talking with Rachael, I knew that she had what it took to ensure that I felt beautiful on my big day. Rachael spent three hours with me during my trial perfecting my hair and makeup. We tried many different hair and makeup options until I found the exact look I wanted. She was so patient with me! I left my trial feeling completely confident that I made the right decision choosing Rachael.  The day of my wedding wasn’t any different. Rachael delivered just as she had during my trial. She is very fun and outgoing and my bridal party absolutely loved her! The girls in my wedding party that got their hair and makeup done with Rachael LOVED the finished product. They looked beautiful! I felt the way that every girl wants to feel on her wedding day… drop dead gorgeous!
