From the bride:
The whole weekend was amazing!  We had 90 people travel to our favorite place, Aspen!  We were so excited to share everything Aspen has to offer with all our guests!

We tried to make our day very personalized. We had a rock ceremony in which all of our guests wrote a wish or hope for us on a rock.  The rocks were brought down the aisle at the ceremony. We are waiting until our first anniversary to read them.

We said our vows on the top of Aspen Mountain.  My brother performed the ceremony.

Favorite detail:  I LOVED our flowers!!!The best man was Erdem’s dog named Denver.

Memorable Moment:  During the ceremony, looking at my future husband, the mountains and all of our family and friends.  It’s a moment I know I’ll never forget!

  At the end of the evening, we served our guests hot chocolate in personalized take home mugs for the gondola ride down the mountain.RECOMMENDED VENDORS

From the bride:
Our wedding took place on my grandfather’s ranch.  It was such a blessing to have such a beautiful place for our wedding that was also sentimental.

We wanted to keep it very simple and wanted everyone to feel comfortable at our wedding.
My grandmother (Nana) passed away six months before our wedding. I tried to “remember” her in as many aspects of the wedding as possible.  Along with a poem, wearing her ring, a single flower to place on her empty chair, and keeping the handkerchief she used at her wedding with me, I also had a sprig of rosemary in my bouquet to remember her, which is an Irish tradition.

We love the outdoors so we tried to incorporate all things nature as much as possible, which also worked well since Tom is a talented carpenter.  He made all the centerpieces and pie displays.

One of the most memorable moments was the sunshine!  It rained each day the week before and rained the day after, but the day of the wedding we had beautiful sunshine.  We couldn’t help but think that Nana had put in a good word for us.
The first look was so awesome.  Tom was able to give me such a sense of calm, and I needed that calm before I walked down in the aisle in front of 250 people.Walking down the aisle is my next most favorite memory because the music I walked into was a recording of my Nana playing the hymn ‘Holy, Holy, Holy’ on the piano.During the ceremony, a bee starting buzzing around my bouquet and around my head.  It flew away and I don’t think anyone else noticed besides Tom, but it was all I could do to not run screaming back down the aisle!

I’m an avid musician so I used a lot of sheet music in our décor.We had great food, a small fire for roasting marshmallows, horseshoes, fourwheeler rides for the kids, and dancing into the wee hours for the adults!We loved everything about our wedding, but what we really enjoyed along with our guests, were the homemade desserts. We aren’t big fans of cake, especially wedding cake, so pies, brownies, and cookies were a better fit.

From the bride:
Chris and I both agreed that we wanted a very relaxed and fun wedding.  We looked at several different venues before realizing we had the perfect outdoor space right in front of us, my parent’s house in Fort Collins.  After that was decided, the rest fell into place. We had over 200 guests, but it still felt very intimate, which is exactly what we wanted.

Being a florist in the industry, I’ve seen a lot of weddings, so one challenge we had was how to make our wedding our own.  We did a lot of DIY projects and incorporated several of our favorite local things.

We tried to keep our wedding as local and Colorado as possible by using Merry Mountain Cookies for our cookie bar, New Belgium for our beer, Aldrich Jewelry for my earrings and necklace, and of course local vendors for everything else.

 One of the biggest DIY projects we did was our favors.  We took an old family recipe the Groom had for Cinnamon Polish Whiskey and bottled it in individual bottles for our guests. It was big hit!!
