A Spring Wedding at Evergreen Lake House

From the photographer, Chris McLaughlin:  It rained and rained and then finally let up moments before the ceremony started. The bride, Mandy, had her heart set on an outside ceremony so we rushed a few chairs outside, had the guests gather around, and pulled off a last minute miracle!

A Modern, Romantic & Fun Wedding

Sasha & Chauncey  |  March 12th  |  Denver, Colorado

From the bride: We wanted the wedding to represent us as much as possible and in every aspect. The food was unique, our music was special (mainly to us), and the venue had a cool, industrial vibe that definitely stood out.

THE CEREMONY: Our ceremony was beautiful, short, and sweet. We wanted to keep it short so our guests didn’t have to sit through a long and agonizing ceremony!

THE GUEST BOOK:  We chose to go with mad lib style cards instead of a traditional guest book.

THE TABLE NUMBERS: Rather than plain table numbers, we made number signs and took photos with our cat & dog.

THE CAKEWe had an entire table of wedding cakes, which was so much fun!

THE FAVORS:  Since our hashtag was #Saucey2016 (Sasha + Chauncey = Saucey), we thought it was unique to do mini hot sauce bottles labeled Hot Saucey.

LOOKING BACK: We had the most amazing day and we can say it was the best day of our lives! We had so much fun and being around such amazing people it was impossible not to smile and laugh throughout the day!

ADVICE: Set a realistic budget and don’t let anyone influence your vision of your wedding day!

A Rocky Mountain Wedding

Stephanie & Jared  |  June 13th

From the bride: Three words…..One. Long. Engagement. We were engaged for almost two years prior to the wedding day. Jared was in school until the December prior to the wedding. So, with that kind of stress we thought it was best for us to hold some of the wedding planning until he was finished. That left us six months to actually accomplish most of the work.

A Rocky Mountain Wedding in Colorado

We wanted our wedding to match our lifestyle….we love the outdoors and boating. So we went with a bit of outdoor rustic theme with nautical elements.

All in all, the wedding planning ended up being mostly a team effort. We had some rocky roads in the planning, but we managed to not kill each other! It was not always a fun process, so we hated and enjoyed it all at the same time. We just had to remember to celebrate the big decision maker days and try to enjoy as much as possible. I feel like we accomplished that task… End of day…we are married! And we are happy!

A Spring Wedding in Vail

From the event planner, Stacy Horn of JA Special Events: Mountain weather can be unpredictable in April, but Vail locals Ashley and Mark, completely embraced the gently falling snow that softened their wedding day. Brinton Studios beautifully captured the romance of that first dance on the Donovan Pavilion patio surrounded by friends, family, baby’s breath, and shimmering bubbles, the festive bridal party serenade from a green Turtle Bus, the sacred moments of a meaningful ceremony at Vail Chapel, and hand-crafted details like the pretzel ski poles dipped in chocolate by Ashley’s mom, the escort cards displayed in wine corks on wine-box cheeseboards crafted by Mark, and the aspen tree masterpiece cake by Mountain Flour. A gourmet mac and cheese station from Footers Catering warmed guests up for an evening of fun and dancing.

“Love is in the Air” at Devil's Thumb Ranch

Caroline & Zachary  |  May 11th  |  Devil’s Thumb Ranch, Colorado

From the bride: We are both Colorado natives and we felt it was important to get married here in Colorado. We both are rustic and traditional in style. I own more cowboy boots then heels so it was important to me to reflect who we are in our attire. I chose a color palette of natural colors with a primary focus on yellow. My husband is a pilot and loves everything aviation. I wanted to include his passion in our wedding day and brought in the theme “love is in the air”.  This theme came to life in items such as: paper airplanes for our ceremony programs, vintage airplanes at each reception table, and luggage tags with a personalized message from us, “Some roads are not meant to be traveled alone”.

It snowed up until the day of our wedding, so there was snow on the mountains, but perfect weather below at Devil’s Thumb Ranch. We planned to get married outside, but given the condition of the ground, we changed the plan to inside the Broad Axe Barn. Travel, aviation theme wedding at Devil's Thumb Ranch

We wrote and read our own vows and our unity ceremony contained wine & chocolate instead of the traditional unity candle/sand.

My favorite detail was our “Co-pilot” and “pilot” signs on our chairs.

Our tables were decorated with vintage planes, flower arrangements in mint julip cups, candles in mason jars and luggage tags.

My advice: Keep the wedding small and intimate; it gives you more time to enjoy the moment.
