Emily & Kevin | Cherry Creek State Park, Colorado

The original inspiration from this shoot came from the car that I found, a Karmann Ghia. Some local friends owned the car and allowed us to use it. Instead of placing the car in a typical scene, I wanted more nature as if the couple was going for a ride. It was a fun shoot, and Emily and Kevin had a lot of their own ideas. We explored Cherry Creek State Park, and what originally was a few concept photographs with the car turned into an adventure. We found the small beach in the park and Emily was very excited to take photos by the water. As the sun was setting, it made the perfect backdrop for a couple’s shoot. Emily and Kevin are head over heals in love. I loved getting to watch their giggles and inside jokes as I photographed them. They were so comfortable with each other that it made for an amazing shoot.
The entrance into the dining hall – in which we were greeted with bells and ribbons in reverse send off fashion added an element of whimsy.
The beautiful setting of the dining hall surrounded by the flatirons provided the perfect mixture of elegance and intimacy.
