Simple & Fun at Denver Botanic Gardens

Erica & Chris |  May 22nd  |  Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield

From the bride, Erica:
We wanted everyone to feel at ease and to enjoy themselves. Since neither Chris nor I are big on dancing we opted to have a photo booth and lawn games as entertainment. The photo booth was a nod to our first year of dating, every three months we went to Lucky Strike to take photos in their booth. It became a mini tradition of ours. As a treat, we had a cotton candy machine because who doesn’t love cotton candy and when else are you going to rationalize renting one out for the day!

My Oleg Cassini dress fit perfectly. I didn’t need any alterations. And it fit my personality perfectly, I think the dress and I were meant to be! Lindsay JC Lack02 Lindsay JC Lack03 Lindsay JC Lack04

For the ceremony my entourage and I took a golf cart close to the gazebo, there were plenty of trees to shield me from our guests so I could gather my nerves! With such naturally beautiful surroundings it wasn’t necessary to over do decorations, the trees created such a lovely backdrop to my father and I walking to the aisle. It was truly the kind of setting we wanted, simple and natural. The focus for us was saying our vows to each other and being ourselves.

Our ceremony was held at the gazebo, we had been searching high and low for a lovely low key location. Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield  {Rockstar Venue} is beautiful as it is a botanical garden; the bonus for us was the amount of space. It’s great to find a space were you could comfortably do everything a wedding entails: getting ready, photos, ceremony, photos afterwards, and reception!

My most memorable moment was walking through our confetti storm after just being announced by my brother as Mr. and Mrs. for the first time! Everyone had a little container of earth friendly confetti to toss in the air as we walked by. It was rather hard to see and breathe with that stuff flying around but it was a lot of fun! Our reception was held at the big red barn just down a dirt path from the ceremony. This was our moment to have fun and share the things we love with our loved ones. Lindsay JC Lack07 Lindsay JC Lack08

My favorite detail my husband’s bowtie, which he rocked! It was a gift he received from a friend who actually came to the rescue the day of the wedding to help tie it! To me, it was such a great symbol of our love for each other and what awesome friends we have.

My advice: Don’t worry, honestly the things you are going to stress about no one will notice. So don’t cause yourself unnecessary stress, just enjoy yourself and the moment! Lindsay JC Lack12

RECOMMENDED VENDORS

Venue: DENVER BOTANIC GARDENS at CHATFIELD. I would absolutely recommend. It’s such a beautiful location that feels secluded but is not that far from major roads. It made our lives so easy to be able to have both our ceremony and reception at one location.

Photographer: Lindsay JC Lack. She is such a great photographer and a lovely person who makes you feel at ease on your big day. Lindsay was flexible and creative with her shots, going with the flow of the day and capturing every emotion. She captured beautiful shots and often I didn’t realize she was shooting away. I have recommended her to several of my friends who are getting married in the next couple of months. I can’t say enough about how awesome she was through the whole process.

Caterer: Rocky Mountain Catering, I can’t say enough about our amazing caterer as well! Gordon gave us a great menu that really fit with our wedding. He was the perfect caterer, even finding a tandem bike for us to borrow after hearing our struggle to obtain one! They handled running the bar, the food, and even the cotton candy machine. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone with a catering need. I believe because of Gordon doing such an amazing job our wedding was stress free.

Cake: Pink Ribbon Cakes, Pam created our traditional wedding cake and our wedding topper. Not only was our cake beautiful but also tasted amazing. She will always be my go-to person for cake!

Cupcakes: The Shoppe. The best cupcakes I have ever had, perfect amount of sweetness in such an array of flavors. We opted for the mini cupcakes and they were a perfect bite size!

Florist: Pretty Petals, Barb delivered beautiful flowers, she was very helpful and such a wonderful person to work with. I was so happy when the flowers arrived the day of, they were exactly what I was imagining.
